Askari: our goal is to organize the national championships this year
Acting head of Para Pahlavani and Zurkhaneh Association explains the topics of the sport.
In an interview led by IRISFD’s Public Relations, Mahdi Askari spoke about the effect the Covid-19 virus has had on the sport and the measures the association has taken to preserve the game during this difficult time and his plans as well.
Speaking about the topic of last year, he said: “two major virtual competitions organized by association last year, featuring the best individual players.”
He also highlighted association’s future plans: “If the Covid-19 dust settles, we will stage national championships this year at junior and senior groups and putting talent identification as the primary priority in the junior group.”
“In collaboration with Deputy Minister of Sports in cultural affairs and development of public sport, we aim to attend an exhibition set to take place next month, introducing Para Pahlavani and Zurkhaneh sport across the country “added Askari.
He was appointed to the position on 12 Apr 2021. While considered a Janbaz (veteran of the imposed war), he was associated with the Iran Sports Federation for the Disabled as a former colleague.
