Preparations are well underway for Iranian Para powerlifting athlete, Roohallah Rostami as he eyes the Paralympic Games. Rostami along with national team members, moved to the Training Center in Kish Island last month, basing there until 28 Apr, 2021.

The 2012 Paralympics silver-medalist who won a gold medal in the men’s up to 80kg at the Nur-Sultan 2019 World Para Powerlifting Championships, thanks to his 236kg lift stated: The process of analyzing the opponents has conducted by coaches and I’ll try my best to record the best attempts in the Paralympic Games.

We are struggling with lots of hard work to prepare for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic. I train every single day to get there and represent Iran, Rostami goes on: I would like to raise the flag of my country.

The 32-year-old athlete added: while taking up Para powerlifting, I’ve been inspired by elderly athletes (Masters) in this sport to success in this way.

Rostami said: having multiple goals in the National Para Powerlifting Championship, hoping to motivate junior athletes, while featuring in international events on track for success and contributing to the development and consolidation of future stars.
