Para Ski objectives are fully accomplished last year
Iran’s Para Ski Association eyes to increase Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games slots
Isa Saveh Shemshaki , head of Iran’s Para Ski Association : last year, the qualification events for the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games started and by full support of I. R. Iran National Paralympic Committee (NPC) and Iran Sports Federation for the Disabled (IRISFD), We could manage to hold international competitions in Para-Alpine skiing, Cross Country Skiing and Snowboard at Dizin and Emamzadeh Hashem resorts, while receiving IPC representative.
“This competitions has led to Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games Qualification points for our athletes, then we conducted some Short-term controlled training camps for to keep them in shape,” Saveh Shemshaki urged.
Last year’s goals of the association, has been accomplished fortunately with excellent performance of athletes in competitions and camps. Added Saveh Shemshaki, It’s time to participate in more international tournaments to push the points up.
“Due to serving as the last qualification chance for the 2022 Paralympic Winter Games, the World Para Snow Sports Championships in Lillehammer, Norway, which is scheduled to take place, one-month ahead of the start of the Beijing Winter Paralympic Games, is very important for us,” Saveh Shemshaki said.
“We have submitted the sports calendar of association to the I.R. NPC and IRISFD, accordingly fitness drills will start by late August and early September. Pointing out on future programs, he went on: Our objective is to get more slots in comparison with 2018 Paralympic Winter Games and hoping to head to Beijing 2022 Games with 8 athletes”.
